I just spent two fantastic days at the Boehm Kobayashi self publishing workshop, organized by Laurence and Sebastian of Publish it Yourself and Le Bal in Paris. The goal was to produce a fanzine with a photo from each participating photographer, to be printed on a risograph by Après Midi Lab. It is always a pleasure to be in a creative process surrounded by talented people and I was truly amazed to discover the work of fellow photographers Sandra, Hannah, Damien, Noel and Michela. The excellent duo Katja and Oliver from Boehm Kobayashi taught us some invaluable stuff about book creation and the result will soon be seen on this blog.
If you are interested in self publishing, I really recommend you to come to Maison d'art Bernard Anthonioz in Nogent sur Marne tomorrow evening at 7 p.m., when a conference will be held, or to stop by this weekend to see the full exhibition.

Day 1/Jour 1/Dag 1 (Michela, Katja & Oliver)

Je viens de passer deux jours fantastiques dans un workshop en autoedition par Boehm Kobayashi, organisé par Laurence et Sebastian de Publish it Yourself et Le Bal à Paris. Le but était de produire un fanzine avec un photo de chaque photographe participant, et imprimé en risographe par Après Midi Lab. C'est toujours un plaisir de participer dans un processus créatif entouré par des gens talentueux et j'étais très impressionné par l'œuvre des autres photographes, Sandra, Hannah, Damien, Noel et Michela. L'excellent duo Katja et Oliver de Boehm Kobayashi ont partagés leur savoir et nous ont appris un tas de choses sur comment créer et publier un livre et le résultat sera bientôt montré sur ce blog.
Si vous êtes intéressé par les livres photos autoédités, je vous recommende de venir à la Maison d'art Bernard Anthonioz à Nogent sur Marne demain soir à 19 heures, parce qu'il y aura une conférence dédiée, ou de passer ce weekend pour voir l'exposition.

Jag har just tillbringat två fantastiska dagar på Boehm Kobayashis fotoboksworkshop, organiserad av Laurence och Sebastian från Publish it Yourself och Le Bal i Paris. Målsättningen var att formge ett fanzine med en bild från varje deltagande fotograf, som sedan trycks på en sk risograf av Après Midi Lab. Det är alltid en högst givande upplevelse att ingå i en kreativ process med talangfulla människor och jag var helt klart imponerad av att ta del av bilderna från de andra fotograferna, Sandra, Hannah, Damien, Noel och Michela. Den oslagbara duon Katja och Oliver från Boehm Kobayashi guidade och lärde oss en mängd ovärderliga saker om bildurval och fotoboksformgivning och resultatet kommer snart att kunna ses på denna blog.
Om du är intresserad av egenutgivning, rekommenderar jag dig att komma till Maison d'art Bernard Anthonioz i Nogent sur Marne i morgon kväll klockan sju, då det hålls en konferens, eller att göra ett besök under helgen för att se utställningen i sin helhet.
