Autour de l'extrême

I love big theme exhibitions with different photographers in them. There are the legendary names who's photos you worship, and if you're lucky you see some pieces by them that you haven't seen before. There are the ones that you know a little, and here comes the possibility to be better acquainted with their work. And there are the new ones, and because you love the theme of the show, you'll love them too, and they will be your new best friends forever.

I know this sounds silly, but this was exactly what I felt when I saw the show "Autour de l'extrême" at the Maison Européenne de la Photo. I just adore Nan Goldin, Andres Serrano, Helmut Newton… I start to discover the work of Bruce Davidson. And the new ones are the ones I'll remember next time I see something from them.

J'adore les grand expos à thème avec des différents photographes qui y participent. Il y a les gens légendaires dont vous adorez les photos, et si vous êtes chanceux, vous y trouverez des images d'eux, que vous n'avez pas encore vu. Il y a les photographes qu'on connait un peu, et voilà l'opportunité de mieux connaître leur œuvre. Et il y a les nouveaux, et parce que vous aimez le thème de l'expo, vous les aimez aussi, et ils seront vos futur meilleurs amis.

Je sais, tout cela semble bête, mais c'est exactement ce que j'ai ressenti quand j'ai vu l'expo "Autour de l'extrême" à la Maison Européenne de la Photo. J'adore tout simplement Nan Goldin, Andres Serrano, Helmut Newton… Je commence à découvrir le travail de Bruce Davidson. Et les nouveaux sont les gens que je me souviendrais la prochaine fois que je vois leurs images.

Hmm, je ne sais pas si tout cela a du sens, mais en tout cas, allez voir l'expo, elle est trop forte! Jusq'au 30 janvier, 2011

Jag älskar stora temautställningar med olika fotografer som deltar. Där finns legenderna, vars foton du avgudar, och om du har tur finns det med någon bild som du inte tidigare sett av dem. Där finns de som du känner till lite grand, och du får nu möjligheten att bättre lära känna deras verk. Och så finns det de nya, och eftersom du gillar temat för utställningen, gillar du deras bilder också och de blir dina nya bästa vänner.

Jag vet att det här låter rätt dumt, men det var precis så jag kände när jag såg utställningen "Autour de l'extrême" på Maison Européenne de la Photo. Jag älskar Nan Goldin, Andres Serrano, Helmut Newton… Och jag börjar intressera mig mer och mer för Bruce Davidsons bilder. De nya namnen är de som jag minns nästa gång jag ser någonting av dem.

Hmm, jag vet inte om det här låter begripligt, det enda jag vill ha sagt är att se den här utställningen, den är verkligen bra! T.o.m. 30 januari, 2011
