I'm back from a quick visit to Le Havre and the opening of photo festival Areyouexperiencing…

Je viens de rentrer du Havre et l'inauguration du parcours photo Areyouexperiencing… 

Jag har precis kommit hem från Le Havre och invigningen av fotofestivalen Areyouexperiencing…


I went to Le Havre together with photographer Karine Lhémon. Karine is living not far from me, but we had never met, so it was the perfect occasion to get to know each other.
During the festival, Karine is showing her work at the same place at me, the ICI, but she's also having her work on display at the Art Hotel. Our mutual exhibition doesn't start until the 31th of March, so we just dropped off our photos at the ICI, to put them up later. We had a very nice chat with Héléna, who is one of four volonteers running this small but dynamic gallery and then headed over to the Art Hotel, where we were also staying. With Christine Labbé from Artofnow, who originally put us into contact with the association Areyouexperiencing, we hang Karines photos, a beautiful series called Foetal. It needed all three of us, since the prints are huge and quite heavy, all mounted on diasec (a "sandwich" of aluminum and plexiglas, with a chassi behind).
This done, we went out to see a few shows, had a chat with festival guest star Jean-Cristophe Béchet from the magazine Réponses Photo at his opening. The day ended in good spirits with a dinner at a chinese restaurant along with lovely Noémie Pujol, organizer of the festival, and her team, as well as some of the photographers who are participating. In bed by 2 o'clock, and then home to Paris this morning after a delicious breakfast buffet at the Art Hotel. Intense!
P.S. For all of you going to Le Havre to see my show (I know you will!), it starts on March 31, at the ICI (60, rue Ernest Renan), and there will be a cocktail in the evening of April 15.

Je suis allée au Havre en compagnie de la photographe Karine Lhémon. Karine n'habite pas loin de chez moi, mais on ne s'est jamais vu, donc c'était l'occasion parfaite de se connaître.
Dans le cadre du festival, Karine expose au même endroit que moi, à ICI, mais elle montre aussi son travail à Art Hotel. Notre expo en commun ne commence que le 31 mars, donc on a juste déposé les photos à ICI, qui vont les accrocher plus tard. Après avoir discuté avec Héléna, qui est une des quatre bénévoles qui dirigent cet espace pas grand mais très dynamique, on est allé à Art Hotel, où l'on était aussi logées. Avec Christine Labbé de Artofnow, qui est à l'origine de la prise de contact avec l'association AreYou Experiencing, on a accroché les photos de Karine, une série très belle intitulée Foetal. On avait vraiment besoin d'être trois, tellement les tirages étaient immenses et lourds, parce que montés sur du diasec (un collage face image sous plexiglas, contrecollé sur aluminium avec chassis rentrant).
Cela fait, on est allé voir quelques expo, papoter avec l'invité 'star' du festival, Jean-Cristophe Béchet du magazine Réponses Photo, au vernissage de son expo. La journée s'est terminée avec dîner dans un restau chinois avec la charmante Noémie Pujol, l'organisatrice du festival, et son équipe, ainsi que quelque photographes participants. Au lit vers 2 heures, puis parties direction Paris après un délicieux buffet de petit déjeuner à Art Hotel. Wouah!
P.S. Pour tous ceux qui vont aller au Havre pour voir mon expo (si, si!), ça commence le 31 mars, à  ICI (60, rue Ernest Renan), et il y aura un pot de clôture le April 15.

Jag åkte till Le Havre tillsammans med fotografen Karine Lhémon. Karine bor rätt nära mig, men vi har aldrig träffats förr, så det var det perfekta tillfället att lära känna varandra.
Under festivalen visar Karine sina bilder på samma ställe som mig, galleriet ICI, men hon har också foton utställda på Art Hotel. Vår gemensamma utställning börjar inte förrän den 31 mars, så vi nöjde oss med att lämpa av våra foton på ICI för senare upphängning. Där fick vi en mycket trevlig pratstund med Héléna, en av de fyra frivilliga som driver det här lilla, men mycket dynamiska galleriet, innan vi begav vi oss till Art Hotel, där vi tillika var inkvarterade. Tillsammans med Christine Labbé från Artofnow, som ursprungligen var den som satte oss i kontakt med föreningen Areyouexperiencing, hängde vi upp Karines foton, en mycket vacker bildsvit kallad Foetal. Vi behövde verkligen vara tre, för printarna var jättelika och rätt tunga, då de är monterade på diasec (dvs klistrade mellan en skiva aluminium och en skiva plexi, med ett chassi bakom).
Då detta var klart, gav vi oss ut för att hinna se ett par utställningar, och träffade då på festivalens stjärna Jean-Cristophe Béchet från tidningen Réponses Photo på dennes vernissage. Dagen avslutades med middag på en kinakrog i sällskap med den härliga Noémie Pujol, festivalorganisatör, och hennes arbetslag, samt några av de andra deltagande fotograferna. Vid tvåsnåret var vi i säng, och sedan hem till Paris igen efter en mumsig frukostbuffé på Art Hotel. Vilket dygn!
